Just one more day…

If I had one wish…
I would ask for one more day with you dad.

One more day to tell you how much I love you and how much I miss you.

I wish to hold your hand as I did when I was a child when I felt scared and lost.

I wish to listen to the stories of your childhood, of your mischief and your adventures again.

I wish to hear again, how you met mum and how she was the beautiful woman you had ever seen.

I wish I could see you and talk with you again. I wish I could share with you how hard it’s been since you’ve been gone. I wish….I wish…I wish…with every fibre of my being I could have just one more day.

I wish I could see your smile again.
I wish I could hear you laugh again.
I wish I could hear you scold me again.
I wish I could hear you say “drive safely” again.

If I had one wish… I’d wish I could have you back for one more day…
